WHERE ARE THEY??

The app is installed on my MacBook, but now what?! When I double-click it, I get a pop-up ad wanting me to buy another version for $1.99. What?! In the meantime, I see no new emoticons, such as in the FB chat window. No way will I buy a “new, improved” version when this one doesn’t seem to work.
